The AutHouse Proposition: Aut-Source these Marketing Essentials, and focus your personal energy on your Core Business Essentials!
1
Publicity.
New products. New literature. New applications. Company milestones. All of these things (and others) are newsworthy and publishable. You’re missing a trick if you don’t exercise this opportunity to the fullest.
2
Articles, White Papers.
Non-peer-review magazines are always hungry for content, and your website is a great place to offer your white paper (don’t post it, make the customer ASK for it). Articles and White Papers are not easy to produce, but they aren’t expensive either. The payback is undeniable.
3
Bundles, Listings.
Maybe you bought an ad that came with a free Web banner. Or you bought some space in a newsletter that promises a listing in a future newsletter. Or, as a member in an association, you are entitled to listings in their directory. Maximize your reach by maximizing your bundles. Don’t let something slip, just because it’s free – quite the contrary: if it’s free, Grab It!
4
Email.
You have customers. You have prospects. Email is easy, inexpensive, and in most cases, it is the tool customers prefer for communication. Even if your list is small, get started. If you’ve already started, improve.
5
Trade Shows.
If it’s worth the investment to exhibit at an event, then consider investing a little more to promote your presence. Don’t just show up at the exhibit and complain about traffic. Do something in advance to DRIVE traffic.
6
Posters.
Trade shows are great ways to meet new customers. A poster presentation is a great alternative to exhibiting – especially for “fringe” audiences. The hard part is identifying the events and submitting the abstracts on a timely basis.
7
Relationships.
Relationships with customers help you sell your product. Relationships with the media (both sales and editorial) help you market your product. I know you cultivate the former. Be mindful of the latter too!

Blogs can contain a lot of long-winded drivel. I will try to keep the WINDED part as non-long as possible, and the DRIVEL part to the barest of minima.
